Abstract

In August 2024, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Nunukan Regency of 1.84 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.24.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by the increase in most of the expenditure group indices, which are: beverages and tobacco by 1.85 percent, clothing and footwear by 8.68 percent, housing, water, electricity, and household fuel by 0.04 percent, transportation by 0.26 percent, food and beverage/restaurant provision by 8.14 percent, and personal care and other services by 0.74 percent. Several expenditure groups experienced a decrease in the Index or deflation, which are: household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance by 0.88 percent, health by 0.3 percent, as well as information, communication, and financial services by 0.55 percent, recreation, sports, and culture by 0.77 percent. The education group in August 2024 did not make a significant share/contribution to Nunukan Regency's y-on-y inflation.
In August 2024, Nunukan Regency experienced month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation of 0.08 percent and year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation of 1.16 percent.
