Abstract

The workforce in August 2024 amounted to 121,199 people, an increase of 7,231 people compared to August 2023. The increase in the workforce was also accompanied by a rise in the Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) of 3.60 percentage points.

The Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) in August 2024 was 2.71 percent, an increase of 0.02 percentage points compared to August 2023.

The number of employed persons in August 2024 was 117,916, an increase of 7,019 people from August 2023. The sector with the largest percentage increase was the Services Sector (5.65 percentage points), while the sector with the largest decrease was the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Sector (7.81 percentage points).

A total of 68,811 people (57.51 percentage points) were employed in informal activities, a decrease of 2.57 percentage points compared to August 2023. Meanwhile, 50,105 people (42.49 percentage points) were employed in formal activities, an increase of 2.57 percentage points.
