  • The total workforce in August 2021 was 354,376 people, an increase of 4,472 people compared to February 2021. In line with the increase in the number of workers, the Labor Force Participation Rate also increased by 0.07 percentage points.
  • The August 2021 Open Unemployment Rate was 4.58 percent, down 0.09 percentage point compared to February 2021.
  • The working population is 338,152 people, an increase of 4,591 people from February 2021. The employment field that experienced the largest percentage increase was the Mining and Quarrying Sector (1.92 percent point). Meanwhile, the sector that experienced the biggest decline was the Corporate Services Sector (1.53 percentage points).
  • A total of 171,571 people (50.74 percent) worked in informal activities, an increase of 1.00 percentage point compared to February 2021.
  • The percentage of underemployed is down by 0.80 percentage point, and the percentage of part-time workers is down by 2.48 percentage point compared to February 2021.
  • There are 54,677 people (10.22 percent of the working age population) affected by COVID-19. Consisting of unemployment due to COVID-19 (2,953 people), Non-Working Force due to COVID-19 (1,434 people), temporarily not working due to COVID-19 (5,272 people), and working residents who experienced a reduction in working hours due to COVID-19 19 (45,018 people).
