  • In August 2024, international visitor arrivals in Indonesia were 1.34 million. International visitors increased by 2.23 percent compared with July 2024 (m-to-m) and 18.30 percent compared with August 2023 (y-on-y). International visitor arrivals in August 2024 were dominated by Malaysian (14.09 percent), Australian (11.47 percent), and Chinese (9.41 percent). 
  • The number of domestic tourism trips in August 2024, reached 75.88 million. This number decreased by 1.77 percent compared with July 2024 (m-to-m), but increased by 29.31 percent compared with August 2023 (y-on-y). From January to August 2024, domestic tourism trips recorded 674.60 million, an increase of 19.20 percent compared with the same period in the previous year (c-to-c).
  • In August 2024, the number of outbound trips was 648.11 thousand. It decreased by 29.38 percent compared with July 2024 (m-to-m), but increased by 11.67 percent compared with the same month in the previous year (y-on-y). Malaysia became the leading destination country for outbound trips in August 2024 (31.22 percent), followed by Saudi Arabia (20.53 percent), Singapore (13.70 percent), and Thailand (5.50 percent).
  • The room occupancy rate (ROR) of star hotels in August 2024 was 54.85 percent, which increased by 2.39 percentage points compared with August 2023 (y-on-y) but decreased by 1.51 percentage points compared with the previous month (m-to-m). Meanwhile, the room occupancy rate of nonstar hotels was 27.77 percent, which increased by 2.29 percentage points compared with August 2023 (y-on-y) but decreased by 0.25 percentage points compared with the previous month (m-to-m). The average length of stay at star hotels in August 2024 was 1.65 nights, which decreased by 0.03 percentage points compared with August 2023 (y-on-y).
