Abstract

  • In March 2024, international visitor arrivals in Indonesia were 1.04 million. International visitors decreased by 1.91 percent compared with February 2024 (month-to-month) and increased by 19.86 percent compared with March 2023 (year-on-year). International visitors arrivals in March 2024 were dominated by visitors from Malaysia (15.38 percent), Australia (11.92 percent), and Singapore (11.52 percent). 
  • Cumulatively, the international visitor arrivals from January to March 2024 increased by 25.43 percent compared with the same period in 2023. This increase in international visitors was mainly recorded at Ngurah Rai Airport-Bali and Soekarno Hatta Airport-Banten, which increased by 31.49 percent and 33.03 percent, respectively. 
  • In March 2024, the number of outbound trips were 691.55 thousand trips. This number increased by 4.85 percent compared with February 2024 (month-tomonth). As well as, this number increased by 7.45 percent compared with the same month in the previous year. Malaysia became the leading destination country for outbound trips (29.95 percent), followed by Singapore (17.26 percent), Saudi Arabia (16.99 percent), and Thailand (4.96 percent). 
  • The room occupancy rate (ROR) of star hotels in March 2024 was 43.41 percent, which decreased by 2.85 percentage points compared with March 2023 (year-on-year) and decreased by 6.04 percentage points compared with the previous month (month-to-month). Meanwhile, the room occupancy rate of non-star hotels was 22.10 percent, which increased by 0.84 percentage points compared with March 2023 (year-on-year) and decreased by 4.16 percentage points compared with previous month (month-to-month). The average length of stay at star hotels in March 2024 was 1.70 nights, increased by 0.03 points compared with the same period last year (year-on-year).
