Abstract

  • In April 2024, international visitor arrivals in Indonesia were 1.07 million. International visitors increased by 2.41 percent compared with March 2024 (month-to-month) and 23.23 percent compared with April 2023 (year on year). International visitor arrivals in April 2024 were dominated by Malaysian (15.99 percent), Australian (11.99 percent), and Chinese (8.06 percent).
  • Cumulatively, international visitor arrivals from January to April 2024 increased by 24.85 percent compared with the same period in 2023. This increase was mainly recorded at Ngurah Rai Airport-Bali and Soekarno Hatta Airport Banten, which increased by 28.92 percent and 38.31 percent, respectively.
  • In April 2024, the number of outbound trips was 756.02 thousand trips, which increased by 9.28 percent compared with March 2024 (month to month). This number also increased by 33.13 percent compared with the same month in the previous year. Malaysia became the leading destination country for outbound trips (33.17 percent), followed by Singapore (16.33 percent), Saudi Arabia (10.65 percent), and China (5.44 percent).
  • The room occupancy rate (ROR) of star hotels in April 2024 was 47.14 percent, which increased by 5.77 percentage points compared with April 2023 (year on year) and 3.73 percentage points compared with the previous month (month-to-month). Meanwhile, the room occupancy rate of non-star hotels was 26.21 percent, which increased by 4.35 percentage points compared with April 2023 (year-on-year) and 4.11 percentage points compared with the previous month (month-to-month). The average length of stay at star hotels in April 2024 was 1.63 nights, the same as in April 2023 (year-on-year).
