Abstract

The number of international air transport passengers in August 2023 increased by 13.40 percent.
The freight transported by domestic sea transport in August 2023 increased by 2.06 percent.
The number of domestic air transport passengers departing in August 2023 was 5.2 million, a decrease of 12.58 percent compared to July 2023. International air transport passengers increased by 13.40 percent to 1.5 million. From January to August 2023, the number of domestic air transport passengers was 41.6 million, increasing by 22.46 percent. The number of international air transport passengers was 9.9 million and increased by 212.55 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
The number of domestic sea transport passengers departing in August 2023 was recorded at 1.7 million, decreasing by 6.80 percent compared to July 2023. The freight transported by domestic sea transport increased by 2.06 percent, turning 30.4 million tons. From January to August 2023, the number of domestic sea transport passengers reached 13.2 million and increased by 11.81 percent compared to the same period in 2022. Meanwhile, freight increased by 9.78 percent, reaching 230.7 million tons.
The number of railway passengers departing in August 2023 was 31.3 million people, which decreased by 4.93 percent compared to July 2023. Furthermore, freight transported by train decreased by 0.99 percent to 5.9 million tons. The number of passengers reached 238.5 million from January to August 2023 and increased by 42.63 percent compared to the same period in 2022. Moreover, the cumulative freight transported by train rose by 11.41 percent to 44.2 million tons.
