Abstract

The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in November 2023 was 2.86 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 116.08. The highest inflation was seen in Tanjung Pandan at 5.89 percent with a CPI of 120.62, while the lowest was seen in Jayapura at 1.82 percent with a CPI of 112.99.
Inflation occurred as the prices went up, as indicated by the increase in all expenditure groups indices, namely: Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Group of 6.71 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group of 0.69 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group of 1.12 percent; Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group of 1.63 percent; Health Group of 2.04 percent; Transport Group of 1.27 percent; Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group recorded a deflation of 0.07 percent; Recreation, Sport, and Culture Group of 1.38 percent; Education Group of 1.98 percent; Food and Beverage Serving Services/Restaurant Group of 2.18 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 3.76 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate in November 2023 was 0.38 percent, and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation in November 2023 was 2.19 percent.
For the Core Component, the y-on-y inflation rate in November 2023 was 1.87 percent, the m-to-m inflation rate was 0.12 percent, and the y-to-d inflation rate was 1.65 percent.
