  • The total workforce in August 2023 was 387,823 people, an increase of 17,811 people compared to August 2022. The increase in the workforce was also accompanied by an increase in the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) of 2.73 percentage points compared to August 2022.
  • The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2023 was 4.01 percent, down 0.32 percentage points compared to August 2022.
  • The working population is 372,270 people, an increase of 18,286 people from August 2022. The employment sector that experienced the largest percentage increase was the Wholesale and Retail Trade Sector (1.29 percentage points). Meanwhile, the sector that experienced the largest decline was the Information and Communication Sector (1.25 percentage points).
  • A total of 191,287 people (51.38 percent) worked in informal activities, an increase of 2.38 percentage points compared to August 2022.
  • The percentage of underemployed decreased by 0.90 percentage points, and the percentage of part-time workers decreased by 2.33 percentage points compared to August 2022.
