  • Of the 90 cities monitored by the national CPI, in July 2023. The highest year on year (yoy) inflation was Merauke City at 5.21 percent, Manokwari City at 4.98 percent and Timika City at 4.92 percent. Meanwhile, the cities with the lowest inflation were Gunungsitoli City at 0.50 percent, Bungo City at 0.80 percent, and Jambi City at 1.19 percent.
  • The combined prices of goods/services for the City of Tarakan and the City of Tanjung Selor in July 2023 experienced Year on year (yoy) inflation of 2.79 percent with a monthly inflation (mtm) of 0.36 percent. Tanjung Selor City experienced Year on year (yoy) inflation of 2.71 percent with monthly inflation (mtm) of 0.34 percent. The city of Tarakan experienced year on year (yoy) inflation of 2.82 percent with monthly inflation (mtm) of 0.36 percent.
  • The combined monthly inflation (mtm) for Tarakan City and Tanjung Selor City was influenced by the transportation group by 2.24 percent, the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 0.75 percent, the education group by 0.36 percent, the recreation group, sports and culture by 0.15 percent, the health group by 0.07 percent, the information, communication and financial services group by 0.00 percent and the food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.00 percent. While the groups that experienced deflation were the personal care and other services group by -0.25 percent, the food, beverage and tobacco group by -0.23 percent, the equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance group by -0.12 percent and the clothing group and footwear by -0.01 percent.
