Abstract

  • The economy of Kalimantan Utara Province in the first quarter of 2022 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current market prices reached IDR 28.86 trillion and based on 2010 constant market prices reached IDR 15.96 trillion.
  • Economy of Kalimantan Utara Province in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2021 grew by 4.53 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Transportation and Warehousing business sector of 12.53 percent. In terms of Expenditure, the highest growth of the Imported Goods and Services Component was 8.95 percent.
  • Economy of Kalimantan Utara Province in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the fourth quarter of 2021 experienced a growth contraction of 2.01 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, the deepest growth contraction occurred in the Government Administration business field of 13.51 percent. From the expenditure side, the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P) experienced the deepest growth contraction of 41.26 percent.
  • Spatially, the economic structure of the Kalimantan Island in the first quarter of 2022 is dominated by Kalimantan Timur Province at 49.97 percent and the smallest is Kalimantan Utara Province at 7.78 percent. The economic performance of Kalimantan Tengah Province was recorded as having the highest growth of 7.32 percent with a role of 12.43 percent, while Kalimantan Utara Province was in second place with growth of 4.53 percent (y-on-y).
