Abstract

  • The number of workforce in February 2022 was 349,892 people, a decrease of 12 people compared to February 2021. The decrease in the number of the workforce was also followed by a decrease in the Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) by 1.65 percentage points compared to February 2021.
  • February's Open Unemployment Rate (UR) was 4.62 percent, down 0.05 percentage point compared to February 2021
  • The working population is 333,718 people, an increase of 157 people from February 2021. The employment field that experienced the largest percentage increase was the Education Services Sector (1.42 percentage points). Meanwhile, the sector that experienced the biggest decline was the Transportation and Warehousing Sector (1.50 percentage points).
  • A total of 166,584 people (49.92%) worked in informal activities, an increase of 0.18 percentage points compared to February 2021.
  • The percentage of underemployed is down by 5.30 percentage points, and the percentage of part-time workers is down by 0.80 percentage points compared to February 2021.
  • There are 20,660 people (3.81 percent of the working age population) affected by COVID-19. Consisting of unemployment due to COVID-19 (3,272 people), Non-Work Force (BAK) due to COVID-19 (713 people), temporarily not working due to COVID-19 (1,137 people), and working residents who experienced a reduction in working hours due to COVID-19 19 (15,538 people).
