Abstract

The Nunukan economy based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) at the current price of the first quarter of 2021 reached Rp. 6.90 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached Rp. 3.97 trillion.
  • The Nunukan economy in the first quarter of 2021 against the first quarter of 2020 contracted by 1.57 percent (y-on-y). From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by Water supply, Sewerage, Waste Management &Remediation Activities amounting to 7.09 percent.
  • The Nunukan economy in the first quarter of 2021 against the fourth quarter of 2020 grew by 0.94 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, the increase was caused by several sectors, including Mining and Quarrying by 3.92 percent.
  • Contraction in economic growth occurred in all Regencies/Cities in North Kalimantan Province. Malinau Regency by minus 1.67 percent; Bulungan Regency by minus 1.88 percent; Tana Tidung Regency by minus 2.14 percent; Nunukan Regency by minus 1.57 percent; Tarakan City amounted to minus 1.23 percent.
  • The economic contribution of Nunukan Regency is 26.39 percent of the total GRDP of North Kalimantan.
