Abstract

In December 2024, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in North Kalimantan Province of 1.29 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.72. The highest inflation occurred in Tarakan City at 1.60 percent with a CPI of 104.98 and the lowest occurred in Tanjung Selor at 0.40 percent with a CPI of 105.18.

The y-on-y inflation in North Kalimantan Province occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 1.56 percent; clothing and footwear group by 4.54 percent; health group by 0.77 percent; transportation group by 0.05 percent; education group by 0.30 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 2.81 percent; personal care and other services group by 5.38 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced a decrease in the index were the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.44 percent; the household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 0.02 percent; the information, communication, and financial services group by 0.15 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.07 percent.

North Kalimantan Province in December had a month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate of 0.44 percent and a year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate of 1.29 percent.
