The number of workers in August 2024 was 393,704 people, an increase of 5,881 people compared to August 2023. The number of workers did not increase significantly compared to previous years, as indicated by the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) which did not change compared to August 2023, which was at 70.35 percent.
The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2024 was 3.90 percent, down 0.11 percentage points compared to August 2023.
The working population in August 2024 was 378,361 people, an increase of 6,091 people from August 2023. The employment sector that experienced the largest percentage increase was the Wholesale and Retail Trade Sector (1.08 percentage points). Meanwhile, the sector that experienced the largest decrease was the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Sector (1.20 percentage points).
A total of 190,721 people (50.41 percent) worked in informal activities, down 0.98 percentage points compared to August 2023.
The percentage of underemployed increased by 1.44 percentage points, and the percentage of part-time workers increased by 0.88 percentage points compared to August 2023.
