Abstract

  • The economy of North Kalimantan in the first quarter of 2024, measured based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices, reached IDR 35.29 trillion and at constant prices in 2010 it reached IDR 17.63 trillion.
  • North Kalimantan's economy in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the first quarter of 2023 experienced growth of 4.78 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Electricity and Gas Procurement business field at 12.80 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth in the LNPRT Consumption Expenditure Component was 20.24 percent.
  • North Kalimantan's economy in quarter I-2024 versus quarter IV-2023 experienced a growth contraction of 2.48 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, the deepest growth contraction occurred in the Government Administration business field at 18.37 percent. From the expenditure side, the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P) experienced the deepest growth contraction of 36.89 percent.
  • Spatially, the economic structure of the Kalimantan Island region in the first quarter of 2024 is still dominated by East Kalimantan Province at 48.12 percent and the smallest is North Kalimantan Province at 8.16 percent. The economic performance of East Kalimantan Province was recorded as having the highest growth of 7.26 percent, while the economic growth of North Kalimantan Province was 4.78 percent (y-on-y).
