Abstract

  • FTT is the ratio of the index of prices received by farmers (It) and the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib).
  • FTT is an indicator to measure the farmers’ purchasing power parity in rural areas. FTT shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumption and production costs.
  • In February 2024, national FTT was 120.97 or increased by 2.28 percent compared with that in January 2024. The increase in FTT was due to the increase in the index of prices received by farmers (It) at 2.89 percent, which was higher than the increase in the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib) at 0.59 percent.
  • In February 2024, Sulawesi Barat Province experienced the highest increase in FTT at 4.34 percent. On the other hand, Maluku Province had the highest decrease in FTT at 1.73 percent.
  • The price index of household consumption (IKRT) in February 2024 increased by 0.81 percent in Indonesia, which was due to the increase in most indexes of expenditure groups.
  • „Nationally, Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) was 123.32 in February 2024 or increased by 2.74 percent compared with January 2024.
  • There were 1,419 paddy sales transactions recorded in 25 provinces during February 2024. The percentage of transactions varied by the quality of the paddy, which was the dried harvested grain (GKP) at 57.22 percent, the dried unhusked  grain (GKG) at 28.40 percent, and the other quality at 14.38 percent.
  • In February 2024, the average GKP price at the farmer level was Rp7,261 per kg, or increased by 4.86 percent, and the average GKP price at the huller level was Rp7,411 per kg, or increased by 4.83 percent compared to the price of similar quality paddy in January 2024. The average price of GKG at the farmer level was Rp8,591 per kg, or increased by 6.13 percent. Meanwhile, at the huller level was Rp8,715 per kg, or increased by 6.18 percent. The price of the other quality paddy at the farmer level was Rp7,048 per kg, or increase by 9.06 percent. While at the huller level was Rp7,208 per kg, or increased by 9.51 percent.
  • Compared to February 2023, the average price of paddy at the farmer level in February 2024 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality increased by 27.14 percent, 33.48 percent, and 29.76 percent, respectively. At the huller level, the average price of paddy in February 2024 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality increased by 26.56 percent, 32.90 percent, and 29.89 percent, respectively.
  • In February 2024, the survey of rice producer prices at the huller level was conducted in 33 provinces and recorded 967 observations from 805 milling businesses.
  • Compared to January 2024, the average price of premium quality rice at the huller level in February 2024 was Rp14,525 per kg, or increased by 6.31 percent. The price of medium quality rice at the huller level was Rp14,162 per kg, or increased by 7.39 percent, and the average price of the other quality rice at the huller level was Rp13,664 per kg, or increased by 4.65 percent.  
  • Compared to the February 2023, the average price of rice at the huller level in February 2024 for premium, medium, and the other quality increased by 22.91 percent, 25.32 percent, and 30.53 percent, respectively.
