  • The number of labor force in August 2022 was 370,012 people, an increase of 15,636 people compared to August 2021. The increase in the workforce was also followed by an increase in the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) of 1.39 percentage points compared to August 2021.
  • August's Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) was 4.33 percent, down 0.25 percentage point compared to August 2021
  • The working population is 353,984 people, an increase of 15,832 people from August 2021. Employment fields that experienced the largest percentage increase were the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Sector (2.91 percentage points). Meanwhile, the sector that experienced the biggest decline was the Wholesale and Retail Trade Sector (1.71 percentage point).
  • A total of 173,451 people (49.00 percent) worked in informal activities, a decrease of 1.74 percentage points compared to August 2021.
  • The percentage of underemployed decreased by 0.98 percentage point, and the percentage of part-time workers decreased by 2.11 percentage point compared to August 2021.
  • There are 11,885 people (2.17 percent of the working age population) affected by COVID-19. Consists of unemployment due to COVID-19 (269 people), Non-Working Forces (BAK) due to COVID-19 (409 people), temporarily not working due to COVID-19 (275 people), and working residents who experienced a reduction in working hours due to COVID-19 19 (10,932 people).
